Author, dancer, and activist Dana Mills joins us to chat about her writing, her peace work, and the inherent connection between the arts and activism.
Dana Mills is a writer, activist and dancer. She is the author of Dance and Politics: Moving Beyond Boundaries (2006), Critical Lives: Rosa Luxemburg (2020), and Dance and Activism: A Hundred Years of Radical Dance Across the World (2021). She received her DPhil from Oxford, UK, and has held positions at Oxford University, New York University, Northwestern University, University of Amsterdam, among others. Her writing has appeared in The Jacobin, Tribune, New Socialist, and Granta among others.

The Ives Main Library, designed by renowned architect, Cass Gilbert in 1911, is a cornerstone of the historic New Haven Green. The facility is a community treasure and features unique design details, including several WPA-era murals. Ives is open 54 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, and houses major public service departments for children and teens as well as adult reference, a computer tech center and Ives Squared, a newly renovated space for innovation and entrepreneurship.
