No need to fear! Here's your chance to learn how to use a computer step-by-step.

*Please print and distribute this information to older adults who cannot use the computer yet*

This course is for the absolute beginner and there's nothing wrong with that!
Taking the first step is the trickiest part, but here you are ✨

A bit about the course:

This course will be 1 hour followed by questions and some hands on assistance. We will look at:

  • The mouse, keyboard, monitor, and system unit
  • Learn about the display, monitor settings, accessibility features (such as enlarging text)
  • other basic settings passwords, usernames, and feedback (noises, buttons, and links)

We will practice a bit:

  • We will show you how to hold and use a mouse - some hand/eye coordination
  • How to use the keyboard - how to align your fingers, explaining what functions are present (such as caps lock, escape)
  • Show you how the keyboard and mouse are connected and how to reconnect them

You will have handouts to take with you & there will be books available for checkout to support your learning when the class is over.

They key to learning a new skill is practice practice practice! 🎯

If you would like to keep practicing on your own, you are more than welcome to visit the library any time and freshen up on your knowledge. We have wonderful staff here that can help you. There will be a second date for the same class on Thursday, April 6th, 2023 at 5:30 PM.

If you would like some hands on support, you can call the library to schedule a One to One appointment with a librarian.
