Meet new or favorite local authors, listen to their stories, and participate in activities!
Our children’s authors and illustrators series continues with local author Lewis Beilman (Little Özil). The book "tells the story of Mustafa—a child of immigrants—who uses his faith, family, and soccer skills to overcome the prejudices of his fellow students and teammates" (author website).
Join us in the Children's Room (2nd floor) to listen to a book reading and ask questions. This event is best for ages 5 and up, but the event is open to and enjoyable for all! New authors and illustrators will be presenting all year long!

The Ives Main Library, designed by renowned architect, Cass Gilbert in 1911, is a cornerstone of the historic New Haven Green. The facility is a community treasure and features unique design details, including several WPA-era murals. Ives is open 54 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, and houses major public service departments for children and teens as well as adult reference, a computer tech center and Ives Squared, a newly renovated space for innovation and entrepreneurship.
