Join us as we present Chef Nadine Nelson, owner of Global Local Gourmet for a Herbal Culinary, Beauty and Wellness Creations Workshop in collaboration with Common Ground.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROGRAM WILL BE HELD AT COMMON GROUND, NOT NHFPL, AND WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE
Herbs serve many functions. They can be used to season food, make tea, homemade
botanical skincare products, and for wellness practices.
In this class, you will:
1) Explore how to use herbs in your daily lives for everyday nourishment.
2) Learn how to identify 12 safe everyday herbs.
3) Cook (communally prepare dinner).
4) Make a beauty potion.
5) Be sent home with herbs that will mature in less than 30 days for you to practice what
you learned in this workshop. (A bonus is a herbal oracle card reading to guide you
this Spring).
This program is held in collaboration with Common Ground, a center for learning and leadership, inviting
people across ages and identities to connect to their urban environment, build community,
grow into their full potential and contribute to a just and sustainable world.
Chef Nadine, Green Queen of Cuisine and owner of Global Local Gourmet is a roving
community supported kitchen. We empower people through interactive culinary education and
food events exploring how markets and the power of a well stocked pantry can bring the world
to our kitchens while engaging in themes around longevity, sustainability, and culture.
