Yes, the New Haven Promise Scholarship works! If you are a New Haven Public School Student, you can receive free college tuition!

· The New Haven Promise scholarship is an annual award that covers up to full tuition, and tuition only, at a Connecticut public 2 or 4-year college or university., or up to $2,500 at an in-state private institution.

· Don’t wait until senior year! Register as early as 7th grade.

· Learn about the requirements for the Promise Scholarship

· Hear from Promise staff, New Haven Promise Scholarship recipients and very happy parents!

Parents are encouraged to attend with their students.

About the branch

The Donald G. Mitchell Memorial Library was founded in 1910, adopted into the New Haven Free Public Library System in 1922, and opened in its current facility in 1966. Situated on the edge of Beecher Park, Mitchell Library has become a cornerstone of the Westville, Amity, Beaver Hills, Edgewood, and West Rock neighborhoods. Residents frequent the library to attend community meetings; borrow the latest bestsellers; enjoy, attend, or participate in a library program; or take advantage of the library’s free Wi-Fi.
