Family Place Room

The Wilson Library is happy to welcome back The Connecticut Hearing Voices Network (CT-HVN). Come share your experiences with others who “get it” in an anonymous group aimed at friendship and support.

The Connecticut Hearing Voices Network provides weekly support groups for people who hear voices, see visions, or experience other altered states of reality. The CT-HVN seeks to provide a space where people can share their experiences safely and without judgment. For more information about the CT-HVN, please visit their website, www.cthvn.org. Groups will meet weekly, except Holidays, in the Family Place Room on the lower level.

1 in 10 people in the United States are left handed. 1 in 10 have blue eyes. And 1 in 10 people hear voices, see visions, or have other unusual experiences at some point in their lifetime. If you have these experiences, you aren’t crazy, and you aren’t alone. We do too! Come share your experiences with others who “get it” in an anonymous group aimed at friendship and support. 1 in 10 people in the USA hear voices or see visions.* Do you?

About the branch

The Courtland S. Wilson Library opened in 2006. With the largest footprint among the NHFPL branches, Wilson is a beacon of opportunity and life-long learning in the Hill neighboorhood. Wilson supports literacy with monthly bulk book delivery to school teachers. A youth Lego club, and a newly formed tween and teen computer group meet weekly; and launching in 2019, a youth Girls Who Code Club. Many community groups convene in Wilson’s seven meeting rooms. The Computer Lab hosts groups and offers computer instruction including digital literacy classes in Spanish and weekly free tax preparation during tax season.
