New to computers? Learn the basics of the Windows desktop and get an introduction to starting programs, manipulating windows for efficiency, and finding folders and files. Some experience with mouse and keyboard is recommended. This class for adults will be held in the Lower Level Computer Classroom.
By the end of this class, you will have a basic understanding of and gain experience in:
· Windows desktop layout
· Locating and starting software programs on a PC
· Controlling windows/tabs, and
· Locating and opening files and folders
*Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are recommended; the classroom has nine computers.

The Ives Main Library, designed by renowned architect, Cass Gilbert in 1911, is a cornerstone of the historic New Haven Green. The facility is a community treasure and features unique design details, including several WPA-era murals. Ives is open 54 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, and houses major public service departments for children and teens as well as adult reference, a computer tech center and Ives Squared, a newly renovated space for innovation and entrepreneurship.
