If you aspire to sell your products & services internationally, this will help turn your ambition into action. This will be Workshop 4: SBA STEP, Trade Finance and Export Credit Insurance Policy

You will meet with the instructors, the government officials and representatives from SBA, SCORE, DECD, SBA approved lenders, export credit insurance agents, and attorneys to discuss with you your specific financial needs and receive technical assistance.

This event will cover the following topics: 

- What is the SBA State Trade and Expansion Program (STEP)?

-How to apply for it online via Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development website.

-How to file the activity report and get reimbursement.

-Understand trade finance and export credit insurance programs.

-Finance your company’s transactions.

-How to manage your foreign accounts receivables?

-Methods of Payment: Cash-In-Advance, Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Open Account and Consignment.

-Manage or mitigate risks related to foreign payments.

-Federal and State export grant programs.

-SBA, ExIm, OPIC and USDA Trade Finance Programs.

-Export Credit Insurance Policies.

About the branch

The Ives Main Library, designed by renowned architect, Cass Gilbert in 1911, is a cornerstone of the historic New Haven Green. The facility is a community treasure and features unique design details, including several WPA-era murals. Ives is open 54 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, and houses major public service departments for children and teens as well as adult reference, a computer tech center and Ives Squared, a newly renovated space for innovation and entrepreneurship.
